Abstract :

Lack of adherence to treatment is a complex problem with multiple causes relating to the patient, treatment, disease status, socioeconomic factors, and the relationship with the health system. At the most critical moments of the COVID-19 pandemic, lack of adherence was aggravated for various reasons, such as that some patients did not collect their medication for fear of catching the virus, or family members collected it, some of whom were unfamiliar with their treatments. But adherence is not only taking medication, it is also the patient's involvement and commitment regarding their disease, their treatment, and the healthcare professionals surrounding them. Since the arrival of COVID-19, the problem has remained the same, but the obstacles are constantly increasing, so it is increasingly necessary to establish protocols involving the entire social healthcare network to address and resolve this problem.
