Abstract :

The 2001 Consent of the Ministry of Health and later the Pharmaceutical Care Forum defined the Pharmaceutical Indication as a service in which the pharmacist plays a central role in the improvement of self-limited health problems, referring to a doctor if necessary. But is performing a pharmaceutical indication the same as having a pharmaceutical indication service in the pharmacy?

To answer this question, SEFAC, the Pharmaceutical Care Research Group of the University of Granada and the Very Illustrious Official College of Pharmacists of Valencia launched the study INDICA+PRO, which demonstrated that there were differences between the pharmacies that applied the traditional systems and those that were established with protocols in agreement with scientific associations.

With the data obtained in this work, the implementation study of the Pharmaceutical Indication Service was launched, with more than 700 researchers and more than 13,000 records collected to this date and the result of this effort, starting from February the pharmacists who wish will be able to train in the SEFAC Professional Pharmaceutical Service of Pharmaceutical Indication (SIFAC), which has the support of the main medical scientific primary care associations.
